019 / Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich by Warrant, 1989
As a kid, the music I was exposed to was broken up into four parts:
- My mom, who listened to soft rock and country
- My father, who listened to mostly news reports but shared his love for Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole
- My cousins who exposed me to freestyle, techno, and hip hop
- My brother, (who I owe a majority of my music knowledge to) who listened to new wave, hair/glam metal, jazz, r&b, and house
I was [and still am] quite the ballad fan, especially from metal bands like Warrant.
Today's color palette features their debut album, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich (a CD I had secretly stolen from my brother to record the song "Heaven" on a cassette tape) and just noticed the dude had a nose ring... the things you miss when you're 9 years old.
